Vijay (Jeetendra) is a Crime Reporter and very often helps the police in apprehending criminals. When his stepmother (Kamini Kaushal) passes away, she asks him to look after his step-brother, Anand (Vijay Arora), which he promises to do so.

Widowed by the sudden passing of his wife, Superintendent of Police, Choudhry, brings up his son, Rajesh, on his own, teaches him all known good values, and when he grows up sends him to College in Bombay, and remits money to him regularly. Choudhry would like to transfer to Bombay Police, so that he can be close to his son, and then one day out of the blue, his transfer is approved, and a delighted Choudhry writes to his son to pick him from the railway station. Upon arrival in Bombay, he does not find his son at the Railway Station, but when browsing through a newspaper he sees his son's photograph - wanted for the murder of a card-sharp. Shocked and dismayed, Choudhry attempts to piece his life together and attempts to find Rajesh before the City Police do - for he may well face the death sentence. Choudhry does find him, but only after Rajesh is accused of killing a woman named Kishori, and this time Choudhry is quite sure that there is no hope for Rajesh.

Kusum Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle in scenic Kashmir with her widowed dad, Basant. Her dad had helped his friend's widow, her son, Sushil Verma, and daughter, Munni, overcome many financial challenges, and had also paid for his medical education so that he can grow up to not only support his family, but also marry Kusum. Kusum and Sushil do get married and re-locate back to Sushil's house which is attached to Malhotra Hospital where he works. Shortly thereafter disagreements begin when Kusum is not allowed to have her way, and also when she feels that Sushil is not being attentive towards her. Things escalate to such an extent that Kusum returns to live with her dad. Several months later, she is informed that Sushil is seriously ill, she returns - only to find that Sushil is in love with a nurse named Karuna. Watch what an angered Kusum does to keep Sushil all to himself.

Seenu (Nitin) is a new admit into a college. Nandini (Neha) goes to the same college. Seenu is from a middle class family and Nandini is a rich girl. Nandini is the only daughter of Gowri Shankar (Prakash Raj), who is a land mafia don. Gowri Shankar suspects them to be lovers after he finds them dancing for freshers celebration at college. Seenu gets beaten up. Irritated by this, Seenu challenges about winning the love of Nandini. After several attempts, she falls in love with him. They elope and get married when Gowri Shankar tries to separate them. The story takes several turns before the movie ends in a happy note.

Ram Chandra is a Tamilian who lives in a shanty hut in Bombay's Dharavi, along with his mom and a younger sister. He dream is to attend school, which he does so, after his sister is loaned out to a beggar to collect alms, but she is unable to withstand hunger for long and passes away. Ram leaves home and subsequently works hard, studies, becomes rich and constructs several colleges to accommodate needy students. One such student he accommodates is a new arrival from Allahabad, Raja, and he arranges his admission in Ram Chandra College for Business Management along with full board and shelter. He also helps Raja sort out his personal problems, including his romance with a young woman he met at the Cyber Café and then at Bandra Railway Station. While Ram Chandra is busy arranging his daughter's marriage with Rajesh Gupta, the only son of a multi-millionaire and educationist, he is quite unaware that the object of Raja's affections is none other than Roja, his very own daughter.
